Baked Brie with Raspberry Preserves and Toasted Walnuts
- 1 wheel brie or other soft cheese, rinds removed
- ½ cup of your favorite jam or preserves
- ¼ cup walnut pieces, toasted
- 1 piece pastry dough
- 1 egg
Preheat oven to 425.
Spread jam on top of cheese, then sprinkle on walnut pieces to evenly cover. Place cheese wheel in the middle of the pastry dough, and fold up each corner until it is completely covered. Pinch the dough together to secure it.
Break egg into a small bowl and add 1 tsp water. Mix well, then brush on top of the pastry dough.
Place on a small baking sheet covered in foil, then bake for 30-45 minutes until pastry dough is a deep golden color. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes, then serve alone or with crostini.
