I love to cook, and I love to take pictures. Voila - a food blog!

Named after my closely held belief that almost any dish becomes tastier with lemon + salt.

Prosciutto Pinwheels

Prosciutto Pinwheels

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

  • 1/4 cup sweet hot mustard

  • 1/4 pound sliced prosciutto or deli ham, chopped

  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

  • Salt to taste

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Unfold puff pastry and spread out on a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to thin it out a little bit, so that the dough is about 1/8” thick. Spread the sweet hot mustard over the entire surface, then arrange prosciutto over the top. Sprinkle with cheese and a little bit of salt.

Starting on one long end of the dough, start to fold/roll inward until you reach the center point. Then do the same with the other side so the two rolls meet in the center. If you have time at this point, chill the log for an hour or so to make it easier to cut.

Prepare your baking sheet with a layer of parchment paper. Using a serrated knife, ¼” slices off the log and arrange them on the baking sheets. Bake 10-15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Serve hot.
