Apple, Honey, Almond Crostini
- 1 baguette or ciabatta loaf, sliced
- 1 apple, sliced thin
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 wedge soft cheese, like brie, camembert or fromage d’affinois
- ¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted
- 2 Tbsp honey or agave
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- Preheat the oven to 375.
Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat. Place apple slices in pan in one layer and cook, undisturbed, for 5 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
Spread 1-2 Tbsp cheese on each slice of bread, arranged on an oven-proof pan. Top each with an apple slice , then drizzle with honey. Finish off with a few slices of almonds and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
Place in the oven and roast for 5 minutes or until bread begins to brown on the edges. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over each slice, then serve hot.
